NSI was among the very first diagnostic centers in Florida to invest in a brand new G.E Signa EXCITE 3T High-Field MRI. G.E’s Signa EXCITE 3.0T High-Field MRI is featured at each of our facilities: Melbourne, Merritt Island and Orlando. The G.E. Signa EXCITE 3.0T is the most powerful MRI scanner available for clinical use and is considered the most advanced technology of its kind. The scanner provides highly detailed images that helps in evaluating a wide range of conditions, including stroke, cancer and musculoskeletal disease. It was designed to increase image quality and resolution, while also increasing speed for enhanced productivity. It offers imaging volume with a 45 cm field-of-view imaging capability, which enables optimized neurovascular, orthopedic, and abdominal applications. |

Siemens MAGNETOM Espree 1.5 Tesla High Field Open MRI |
|
|
 |
Scanner Specifications:
- Patient weight limit of 250 kg (550 lbs)
- Unique CT-like 70 cm (2’3”) Open Bore (tube) diameter with high homogeneity over 30 cm (1 ft).
- Ultra-short 1.5 Tesla high-field magnet (length: 120 cm (4 ft))
- Wide, patient-friendly inner bore (tube) diameter (70 cm (2’3”))
- Magnet weight incl. Helium only approx. (3,800 kg (8,378 lbs))

Siemens MAGNETOM Espree 1.5T High Field Open MRI is now featured at our Melbourne facility. The Siemens MAGNETOM Espree High-Field 1.5T MRI is the only Open Bore (tube) MRI that combines expansive patient comfort with no compromise in scan power. The ultra-short MR system provides a field-of-view up to 205 cm. It offers a spacious 30 cm (one foot) of headroom and a 55.5 cm (1’10’’) patient gap. That means: More head-room, more leg-room, more elbow-room. No longer will the patient feel like they’re nose-to-nose with the magnet, allowing claustrophobic or anxious patients to be more relaxed throughout their examination. Feet first and heads out for most exams. |

- Patient weight limit of 227 kg (500 lbs)
- 0.7 Tesla magnet (length: 175 cm (5’9”))
- Bore (tube) diameter 212 cm(W) x 250 cm(H)
- Magnet weight incl. Helium only approx. (8,256 kg (18,200 lbs))

G.E. OpenSpeed 0.7T High Field Open MRI is now featured at our Merritt Island facility. The G.E. OpenSpeed 0.7T High-Field Open MRI takes on the architecture of the traditional (both sides opened) Open MRI scanner. Most Open MRI scanners operate at a lower magnetic field strength and receive a lower signal from the body. High-field MRI scanners rely on the tubular or cylinder form construction to produce strong magnetic fields. By using superconducting technology, the magnetic field strength of the G.E. OpenSpeed High-Field Open MRI has been increased to 0.7 Tesla. This is two to three times stronger than the traditional open MRI systems operating today. With the combination of high-performance surface coils and powerful computer processing power, the performance of this scanner is equivalent to that of a 1.0T High-Field MRI system. As opposed to the traditional open MRI systems, the images on the G.E. OpenSpeed 0.7 High-Field MRI have a higher quality and are done in a shorter time (3 times faster than most other Open MRI systems). |

G.E LightSpeed QX/I Multi-Slice CT |
 |
Scanner Specifications:
- Patient weight limit of 180 kg (400 lbs)
- Bore (tube) diameter 70 cm(2’3”)
- Multi-slice detector
- Capable of 2-D and 3-D reconstruction
|
|
The G.E. LightSpeed QX/I is featured at our Orlando and Merritt Island facility. The G.E. LightSpeed QX/I CT system is a whole body multi-slice helical Computed Tomography (CT) scanner. It provides extended body coverage per rotation, exquisite image quality and faster exams times. The G.E. LightSpeed QX/I Multi-Slice CT scanner is equipped in doing image reconstructions and it is capable of producing more detailed 2-D and 3-D images. It operates at a remarkable speed, processing most scans within 0.8 seconds. With the increase in speed, artifacts caused by movement are reduced, thus eliminating the need for repeat scans. The scanner also allows significant reduction in the amount of intravenous contrast material required for an exam. |

G.E LOGIQ 5 2D ULTRASOUND |
 |
G.E’s Logiq 5 Ultrasound machine is now featured at our Orlando and Merritt Island facilities.
The G.E. Logiq 5 ultrasound machine is fast, powerful and versatile. The machine consists of a console containing a computer, a video display screen and a transducer (probe) that is used to scan the body and blood vessels. The transducer (probe) is a small hand-held device that resembles a microphone, attached to the scanner by a cord. The transducer (probe) sends out high frequency sound waves into the body and then listens for the returning echoes from the tissues in the body.
The ultrasound image is immediately visible on a nearby screen that looks much like a computer or television monitor. The image is created based on the amplitude (strength), frequency and time it takes for the sound signal to travel from the patient to the transducer. |
G.E. OEC FlexiView
8800 Fluoroscope (C-Arm) |
 |
An arthrogram can be done as a stand-alone test; however, most are done in conjunction with an MRI or CT exam. NSI performs MRI arthrograms at our Melbourne, Merritt Island and Orlando locations. For patients who cannot have MRIs, NSI performs CT arthrograms at our Merritt Island and Orlando locations.
The equipment used to perform an arthrogram includes a fluoroscope (c-arm), a radiographic table and two television-like monitors. The fluoroscope (c-arm) is a florescent x-ray device, which transmits real-time, moving images (live-feed) of a joint to two television-like monitors. The G.E. OEC FlexiView 8800 Fluoroscope (C-Arm) provides the radiologists with a clear view of the joint. The G.E. OEC FlexiView 8800 Fluoroscope (C-Arm) ensures that the radiologist reaches the joint space and that the contrast material is injected into the right area. The radiographic table is adjustable which helps in the transfer of small or disabled patients. It has a weight limit of 180 kg (400 lbs). |

Siemens MultiX Pro Digital X-Ray |
|
|
|
Siemens’ MultiX Pro Digital X-Ray is now featured at our Orlando and Merritt Island facility. The Siemens’ MultiX Pro Digital X-Ray allows radiographic exposures of the body specifically the skull, spinal column, chest and abdomen, as well as the extremities (hand, foot, etc). Patients 190 cm (6’5”) or less can be examined from head-to-toe without the need for repositioning. Patients can be accessed from all sides. The scanner has a motorized table adjustment which helps in the examination and transfer of small or disabled patients. |
